A Writer’s Prayer

Uncomposted stories, uncovered themes,

yet to be inked on unbound reams.

Inherent ideas, incoherent sounds

yet to find cadences

the struggle on the blank page.

You fill my well with ideas

conflicts, lives, dreams

and amid the tumult, from far apart

a drop starts.

Then it is a trickle, then a stream,

lazy fingers make mazy motions

form words and sentences

my creation unfolds.

I seek with humility

this day and everyday I write

Your guidance

for creativity is a part of divinity.

(Improvised from another version written using my pen name)
